James Davies

James Davies is president and CEO of Chantier Davie. Prior to joining Davie, James was CEO of Cambridge Capital Marine, a maritime-focused investment advisory firm. Prior to that, he was a finance director of the AKN Group, a significant investment group where he was responsible for the selection and structuring of new investments and the management of their existing portfolio. James also worked for Partners Resource Group Ltd, a specialist finance company focused on the purchase and securitization of UK sovereign debt.

Jean-Yves Duclos

The Honorable Jean-Yves Duclos has been a Member of Parliament representing the Québec riding since 2015. He previously served as President of the Treasury Board and Minister of Families, Children and Social Development. Minister Duclos is the author of numerous publications, a lecturer and a renowned economist. Prior to 2015, he served as Director of the Department of Economics at Laval University and Full Professor at the same institution.

Bernard Drainville

Member for Lévis, Minister of Education, Minister Responsible for the Chaudière-Appalaches Region

Newly elected Member of Parliament for the Lévis riding, Bernard Drainville holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and communication from the University of Ottawa and a master’s degree in international relations from the London School of Economics (LSE). After working for nearly 20 years in journalism, he entered politics in 2007. He was first Member of Parliament for Marie-Victorin riding and then Minister responsible for Democratic Institutions and Citizen Participation from 2012 to 2014. He then returned to the world of the media for more than five years before making the leap into politics again in June 2022. Last October, he was appointed Minister of Education and Minister responsible for the Chaudière-Appalaches region.

Gilles Lehouillier

Gilles Lehouillier has been Mayor of the City of Lévis since November 2013. He was Member of Parliament for the riding of Lévis in the National Assembly of Quebec from 2008 to 2012 for the Liberal Party of Quebec. Previously, he was a municipal councilor for the City of Lauzon from 1986 to 1989 and for the City of Lévis from 1989 to 2005. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communication from Laval University.

Pierre Jobin - Host for the day

Pierre Jobin is a well-known personality in the Quebec region. He was anchorman at TQS Quebec in the early 1990s before becoming anchorman for 28 years of Le TVA 18 heures in Quebec City and for the provincial noon news bulletin. He’s familiar with all the issues in the Quebec City region as well as those of the rest of Quebec and Canada. Since August 2021, he has been director of information, sports and radio-traffic for the Cogeco network.

Daniel Beaudoin

Eng., MGP, President of DESCIMCO

 A graduate as a mechanical engineer from Laval University Daniel also holds a master’s degree in project management from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. He has been employed by DESCIMCO for 33 years and has served as CEO of the company for over twenty years now. Renowned for the quality of the execution of its mandates in the mining and metals sector as well as in the petrochemical industry, DESCIMCO has been taking up challenges in the field of construction, rehabilitation or maintenance in the mechanical field since 1988.

Carl Boily

CPA, CA, Chief Executive of PERFORM

Carl Holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and administration from the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi and is a member of the Quebec CPA Order. After having worked for 9 years in the Montreal and Paris offices of PwC and 2 years in the internal audit departments of Lafarge Canada, he joined the Aéroports de Montréal team as Finance Director. After 8 years in this position, he was transferred to the design department of a major public transport infrastructure project where he worked for 8 years with numerous public and private partners. Realizing the importance of consultation for societal progress, he wished to continue this trajectory by joining the management of the PERFORM team in 2019.

Jean-David Lantagne

Co-founder and CTO at Hoola One Technologies

Jean-David is a candidate for the engineering profession as well as President of the Startup Hoola One Technologies which develops technological solutions to act on macro and microplastic pollution in order to preserve and restore affected ecosystems. In the last year Hoola One has developed a grey water treatment solution for ships to collect nano and microplastics as well as other contaminants harmful to marine ecosystems.

Kateri Normandeau

Eng., Vice President Environment and Project Management at gbi

Kateri Normandeau has worked for gbi since 2018, an engineering firm of more than 380 employees that pushes the boundaries of engineering while promoting sustainable and responsible development. She previously held various management positions at WSP, being given the Shreyer Prize in 2011 during the Canadian Consulting Engineering Awards for the Gaspé Mines Rehabilitation project. Ms. Normandeau is actively involved in promoting better practices in environment and project management. She is currently a member of the board of directors of the Quebec City Chamber of Commerce (CCIQ) and president of the board of directors of PMI-Montreal (Project Management Institute).

Amélie De Croutte

Director of Sales and Business Development, Thales Canada

Amélie joined Thales in 2018 and represents the research and development group called Thales Digital Solutions as Director of Business Development. A graduate of the ESSEC Paris International Business Schools and ESIC Madrid in 2003, she has held several roles in business development in the Telecommunications, Defense and Aerospace sectors in France and South America before coming to Quebec in 2007 and working in the field of aeronautics and embedded systems. Within Thales Digital Solutions, Amélie is in charge of setting up innovation projects across Quebec, but also across Canada and international partnerships in order to create value for the ecosystem and accelerate Artificial Intelligence for critical areas.

Sylvie Laporte

Director, Supply chain, Chantier Davie Canada Inc.

With more than 20 years of experience in the field of supply chain, Sylvie Laporte has successfully led her teams while maintaining good business relations with her extensive network of suppliers. Indeed, she believes that teamwork is the key to both internal and external success. Holder of an Operations Management certification from HEC, Sylvie is experimented especially in engineering firms and has repeatedly demonstrated her qualities as a negotiator. To add to her experience and know-how, she also brings to Davie her strong analytical mind.

Gerry Gagnon

Director of the Centre National Intégré du Manufacturier Intelligent (CNIMI)

Having achieved a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering and a specialized graduate diploma in administration, Gerry comes from the manufacturing sector with extensive expertise in medium and high-tech industrial processes. He worked for nearly 20 years in the optical media, microelectronics, residential and commercial HVAC industry. In addition to the « industry 4.0 » audits carried out, for a little over 8 years, Gerry has also offered consulting services in strategic planning and accompanied manufacturers in obtaining financing and tax incentives. He has contributed directly to numerous manufacturing expansion projects, business start-ups and management of the product and process development cycle.

Francis Létourneau

Investment Development and Prospecting Advisor, Ville de Lévis

Passionate about the economic development of the greater Quebec City region, Francis has extensive experience in business development and the implementation of mobilizing projects. In particular, he was Director of Business Development at Québec International and in technology companies in the region. During his career, he has devoted himself entirely to the development of the organizations for which he has worked, through the establishment of growth plans, the creation of products or projects, the creation of industrial groups, or even the implementation of marketing and sales strategies. He stands out for his in-depth knowledge of the regional industrial fabric and the business community.

Marcel Curodeau

President of Médial SST

Marcel is an entrepreneur and the founder of four companies dedicated to health and safety and well-being at work (Medial Santé Sécurité inc. (established in 1993), Société Mutuelle de Prévention inc. (1997), Groupe Santé ExaMed inc. (2002) and LeCampus.com (2010). Marcel is dedicated to the strategic development of client companies by integrating values ​​related to sound management practices in terms of absenteeism, health and safety and well-being, thus creating more profitability and increasing productivity to these companies. His four companies have experienced a sustain growth and are developing extremely effective management and prevention systems. François Piché-Roy

Research and Development Manager, Chantier Davie Canada inc.

Serge has more than 30 years of experience in many aspects of the maritime field as a marine engineer. He is employed by Chantier Davie Canada as head of engine research and development. His mandate is to supervise and carry out Davie’s R&D program with regard to future marine fuels. Serge manages an integrated team project made up of academic, government and industrial partners.

Marcel Poulin

Industrial and Technological Benefits & External Affairs Manager, Chantier Davie Canada

Marcel Poulin joined Davie in 2021. He has more than 15 years of experience in strategic communication, manufacturing production and procurement, in both the private and public sectors. His diverse background allows him to have a precise understanding of Davie’s needs and those of its supply chain to develop strategies that will have a positive impact for the shipbuilding industry in the years to come. Marcel is also a seasoned communicator who makes sure to promote Davie’s impact on the Canadian economy.

Jenifer Lévesque

Acting Director ITB Policy, Industrial and Technological Benefit Branch, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, Government of Canada

In August 2021, Jenifer joined the Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and since October 2022, she is the acting Director of the Industrial and Technology Benefits Policy. Prior to this, she held various roles in the public service including the Privy Council Office, Canada Economic Development for Quebec regions, Public Safety Canada and Innovation, Science and Economic Development. Jenifer completed a bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Ottawa as well as a master’s degree in International Public Administration and a graduate diploma in Crisis Management from the École Nationale d’Administration Publique.

Carl Dufour

biol. M. Sc., DESS in administration

Director of the Department of Expertise in the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions (DER) within the Ministry of the Environment and the Fight against Climate Change (MELCC).

As Director of the DER, Carl has the mandate to define, in intra- and inter-ministerial collaboration, the government’s orientations in terms of mitigating climate change and to ensure their integration into government practices and policies. He collaborates in the review and deployment of the framework policy for the fight against climate change and its implementation plan and proposes strategic orientations with regard to various issues related to his fields of expertise. A biologist by training, Carl has worked for the Government of Quebec since 2012. He was previously an environmental planner at Parks Canada, where he led, planned and implemented management plans for protected areas under the responsibility of the federal agency for all of Eastern Canada.
